Mobile Monday Mid-Atlantic (MoMo Mid-Atlantic, www.momo-ma.com) is a non-profit global community of wireless industry professionals. Our goal is to promote a vibrant mobile community from Princeton to Philadelphia to Baltimore. With over 1,200 members joining since it was founded two years ago, Mobile Monday Mid-Atlantic is the fastest growing technology networking organization in the Greater Philadelphia area. Our chapter organizes events around wireless mobility featuring industry-leading keynote speakers and panelists. Past events have been attended by 200-400 people to network with other entrepreneurs, executives, students, developers, marketers and professionals and to learn more about mobile marketing and advertising, location based services, next generation wireless, mobile social networks, emerging mobile companies (demo day) and mobile in the enterprise.
Mack Center for Technical Innovation at Wharton School, http://mackcenter.wharton.upenn.edu In the expanding global economy, emerging technologies are creating and transforming industries at an unprecedented rate. Emerging technologies introduce a wide variety of risks for established firms as well as new pioneers. All at once, there's a new playing field, with different ground rules that don't fit the culture and business approach of established firms. The horizon is clouded with new uncertainties and familiar industry boundaries are becoming blurred. Competitors are entering the market with new market concepts and non-traditional strategies. Traditional business approaches that succeeded in the past are ineffective or obsolete. Decision makers at all levels are faced with challenges as well as opportunities. New insights and better practices are urgently needed. More than a decade ago, the Wharton School responded to this need by establishing a management research program to study how firms can compete, survive and succeed in industries being created or transformed by technological innovation.
